Enhancing Driver Safety
Enhancing Driver Safety, Flowline show support for FORS Associate App, Enhancing Driver Safety with Dapper. Flowline with a fleet of almost a hundred vehicles are reputable for using technology to ensure the safety of our drivers and others where our vehicles are concerned.
Recent Statistics from think.direct.gov.uk regarding mobile-phones supports that:
- Drivers using a hands-free or handheld mobile phone are slower at recognising and reacting to hazards.
- Research shows:
- You are four times more likely to be in a crash if you use your phone.
- Your reaction times are two times slower if you text and drive than if you drink drive, and this increases to three times if you use a handheld phone.
- Even careful drivers can be distracted by a call or text – and a split-second lapse in concentration could result in a crash.
Flowline is aware of innovative approaches available to help prevent drivers from being tempted to use their mobile phones while driving. DAPPER ensures, Calls, text, sounds, pop-ups, vibrations and notifications are blocked once the app is activated. The app which is free to download on Google Play – the Android App Store (search for D4PP3R)- can be activated manually or set to automatically activate once the vehicle reaches 15mph.
This Tuesday 17th October, our Fleet Manager, Andy Hawkins, attended the FORS Members’ Conference, and showed further support the FORS associate app, called the Drivers App for Electronic Responsibility (DAPPER).
Andy Hawkins Commented:
‘Flowline encourages all drivers to download and use these apps to reduce the likelihood of distractions and therefore help to prevent accidents’.
